Astronomy 203 course policies:

Tests: There will be four one-hour tests, as indicated on the schedule, and a comprehensive final exam. Each student will be allowed the option of taking one retake test a semester to remove a particularly bad grade.

In Class Assignments/Labs:
Some things are best learned by doing!  Students should bring calculators to the class days set aside for in class assignments.  The assignments will be completed in class and handed in to be graded.

Homework and Quizzes:
A certain amount of homework from the textbook will be assigned and quizzes, based on the material discussed in class, will be given throughout the semester.  The purpose of the homework and the quizzes is to track your understanding of the lecture material and prepare you for the tests.  Homework and quizzes will be graded.  Students are authorized to work together on the homework, but they cannot copy another person's homework. Late homework will have to be negotiated with me and I reserve the right to not accept late homework.

Attendence:
Attendence at the lecture is mandatory. The student is referred to the student handbook, pp. 20-23. In this class, three tardies will equal one absence.

Honor Code:
All students will be held to the honor code and must sign the honor code to their tests. The student is referred to the student handbook, pp. 1-2.
